Why we started Fask.ai

At Amazon, I led the engineering team responsible for tier-1 payment systems — processing over $800 billion annually across all of Amazon’s businesses. These systems were mission-critical, powering the movement of money to deliver goods and services to customers worldwide.
But what I remember most clearly? We were constantly firefighting.
We had 2,400+ high-severity tickets a year. Engineers were being woken up every night. Refund issues, double charges, payment processors glitching at scale. It felt like we were duct-taping a rocket ship mid-flight — no time to breathe and no time to fix things properly.
The real kicker? The engineers were some of the brightest people I’ve worked with. But instead of solving high-leverage problems, we were chasing log files and debugging repetitive operational issues.
It didn’t sit right with me.
So when AI technologies started to become more mature and reliable, I couldn’t stop thinking: What if we could give that time back? What if software engineers, support engineers, and customer service agents didn’t have to drown in repetitive tasks?
That question became the seed for Fask.ai.

Initially, our idea was to eliminate support toil for engineering teams and resolve tickets automatically. But as my Co-Founder, Arko Bhattacharya and I dug deeper, we realized something much bigger:
